Introduction

It is important to begin organising your travel in plenty of time. There are four areas you need to consider when planning your trip:

• Getting to Antananarivo, the only international airport in Madagascar, and on to Toliara to join the ReefDoctor expedition
• Sorting out your money and financial arrangements
• Considering your safety and security in Madagascar
• Considering what communications you need have in Madagascar

Depending on your travel plans and the flights you are able to take, you may also want to know about spending time in both Antananarivo and Toliara - hotels, prices etc.

This section is intended to provide you with as much information as we can, and to give website links that will enable you to add to it with your own research. We hope to keep improving this section of the Resource centre as we get feedback from volunteers and new staff.
