Amber van de Klippe
Amber joined our team as a PADI dive instructor in April 2019. She previously worked for a dive centre in Zanzibar and has gained coral reef restoration experience in Kenya. She also has a bachelor degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies, and a Masters in Political Economy. As Dive Officer, she is responsible for all of our diving operations and training. Our holistic approach to conservation initially attracted her to the role in which she is keen to combine her passion for diving with a desire to contribute towards a better world.
Rachael is an experienced dive instructor and marine biologist who joined our team in June 2019. She developed a love for the ocean whilst growing up in the Mediterranean Sea, on the island of Menorca, first snorkelling, then free diving and finally becoming a scuba instructor, with presently over 9 years of experience. She is also skilled in ecological and zoological research after completing an MSc in Marine Biology from Bangor University, Wales and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. As Dive Officer, she is responsible for all of Reef Doctor’s dive training and research diving.
Manjo is a local from the village of Ifaty and lives with his family just opposite the Reef Doctor camp. He has been with the team since 2009 and, alongside the dive officer, is in charge of the projects boats, and engine operations and maintenance. His exceptional knowledge of the ocean and the Bay of Ranobe ensures the safety of all diving operations.
Bostata is also from the village of Ifaty and joined us in 2015 as a second boat captain. He captains all of our science and dive training boat trips.
